no picture or power up

Hi Peeps
i have a TM 5402 .been running OK but seemed to have crashed yesterday.
All I get know is when I power up the red standby light just flashes continually nothing on tv or front of box only standby light flashing. Box is not 6mth old any body any thoughts please.

There can be a number of issues that cause this but the bottom line is there is probably little you can do to fix this yourself, either contact where you purchased about getting it sent back or if you happen to be anywhere near [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] in north London take it in to them with your original receipt and they'll deal with you direct.

I agree with Yoda but also consider phoning [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] first as i know there is a key sequence of buttons that can hard reset the receiver, But sadly i cannot remember it but i am sure the boffins at TM will guide you through it

hi peeps
just thought I'd update.
my Tm finished up back with tachnomate for repair under warrenty. they said it was a fault on the power board and the fan was noisy so they replaced that aswell.
Thumbs up for tachnomate who repaired for free,
i just had to pay postage both ways has was over 30days old. ( cost me a total of about £22 for postage)

They made you pay delivery costs both ways? A bit harsh that, for you to cover the return delivery from you is usually the norm but they really should not be asking you to also pay the return delivery back to yourself, I know for sure our [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] wouldn't ask you to do that, unless I have misunderstood what happened, anyway the main thing is you have a working receiver again

Try rebooting withou anything plugged in - coax , ethernet, usb etc...

same thing happen to me after putting new firmware on it

sorry a bit more info for you all just froze on a channel and wouldnt respond to the remote. i powered down using the switch on the back and expected it to re-boot but it never did. it switches on but there is no signal on tv screen and the digital display on the front of the box just goes round and round and round...switch off at the back and switch back on while holding the menu button this will bring you into the tm's loadermenu here you can do a hard factory reset this will empty your flash completely so c-lines will be gone too start again with original firmware and factory reset then patch and factory reset then put back a channel list and rescan all sats in use. its when u put all cablws in back it stops

Ok so think I understand here, it is working fine as such, you can load on firmware etc. which appears to work fine but it's when you connect cables back up it then just stalls and won't let you do anything? If that's right is this any cable in particular, like feed from the dish, ethernet cable or can it be any of these? Just trying to get clear in my mind at the moment where you are at...

feed from the dish but it ok on spider box
