Blackhole 1.7.1 - 4:3 to 16:9?

Hi,

I'm just wondering is there any easy way to automatically scale 4:3 content to 16:9? Stuff like old simpsons and family guy look really silly, I'd rather have them zoomed or stretched than watch in 4:3.

I've tried > A/V Settings > Display 4:3 content as: Nonlinear & every other option

That ^^ didn't work, does anyone have any ideas?

I use the option of Menu > Setup > System > A/V Settings > Display 4:3 content as: Just Scale

This works fine for me, depends on how you want yours setup of course as to what's right for you but it sounds like the above is what you want. It's important to note that whatever you do some 4:3 content which tends to be on some HD channels (think some of the ITV ones but no doubt others) will not stretch to fill the screen, that's not actually your receiver playing up at all it's to do with the broadcasters and how they transmit content, it needs the broadcasters to do their bit.

Thanks, that explains it. It was originally set to just scale but I thought it was doing nothing and I found someone else using nonlinear in google so I tried that and every other.

It was all in HD channels, just tried it and you're right 4:3 on an hd channel, resized to 16:9 on sd version of the channel.
