hiya folks again
any help out there near hartlepool i got the dish up and can not find anything it might be set up wrong and it no doubt will be but its up there
i would like to know if theres anyone out the local to me that knows what they are doing and set this thing up for me?i dont mind paying as at the end of the day i just want to see a picture,pm me or what ever needs to be done thanks in advance
sorry if i posted in wrong thread but please move to the right one please,,,help help help,set up is a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] hd 9000 and dish is 1.2 with goldtronix universal single gold series hd ready ant the motors a diseqc positioner 100 memory..im as green as grass to its all chinese to me so please anyone help me

oh and i forgot to add that the coaxal cable i used was 5.9 but looking back in the instuction manual it says to use rg-6/u
is this likely to stop me from getting a signal??
its still got nothing on its doing my head in

There are several standards for satellite cable. The important thing is that it is double shielded with the woven earth conductors inside a metal foil layer. Ordinary Terrestial TV aerial cable just is not good enough at these signal frequencies. Cable quality can alter signal quality, especially on weak signals or long runs (10 mtrs +), but provided it is satellite cable and properly terminated at both ends it should be OK for basic tuning in as you use strong signals like BBC, ARTE, ZDF for that.

Check on dishpointer.com for angles and elevations for your location.

And forget diseqc, use USALs for dish setup.

its good quality satellite cable its a point or so just under what it said to use i had a bit brand new so i used it.
i have a fella coming tonight to sort it see i cant get up on ladders these days to do it so i will give him the money to tune it all in

got charged £50 by a clown that advertised in the paper saying they are great at doing satellites
well cut a long story short he couldnt do it,he set thor and said just go playing with the dish scanning about the plank took £50
and took off im as far back as china with a nice set up and cant get sod all on it..grrrrrrrrrrrr
who gives these men a licence to say they are qualified to set sats up
