realtime streaming over ethernet

I see lots of satellite receivers (like the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) saying that they have ethernet ports and can be accessed by a PC.
I just want to confirm, can these units stream the current live satellite channel over ethernet (not just a pre recorded show) ?
If I can stream the live signal, I can put the receiver in the loft and then watch from anywhere in the house. It saves a lot of cabling issues (I installed ethernet a few years ago).

Nope the closed source receivers that offer streaming normally do it the other way, so for example you can have a video file on your PC and via your network can stream this to the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] 5402 / [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] BM7000S) and so watch the video file on the TV that the receiver is connected to, they won't let you stream live TV from your receiver though to watch on another device (laptop/IPad etc.)... But the likes of an Enigma2 based receiver such as the current [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] range can do this. It wouldn't normally be able to stream this to another TV itself though so yes streaming works and works well generally but I would say it's really suited to what you want to do, it's not really a replacement for a distribution system in a house, useful none the less but I don't think it's going to do exactly like you'd want.
