    What stb/receiver should I get?

Hi all I'm looking to get a stb/receiver under 100 it does not have to be hd but it does have to be able to save more than one satellite e.g. 19e and 13e I want to try and get some fta sport.
I will be moving the dish manually (its just outside my window) as I can't afford a motorised dish.
    Any help would be great

    Thanks in advance

Loads of receivers to choose from though for under £100 if it's SD only and only doesn't need internet connection then your looking at the likes of the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] TM-3300, a lot will want to go for the ethernet connection as well though nowdays so also check out the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] 500 Super in that case, again if the ethernet connection is not needed then can do far worse than our [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]s special offer on a Metabox, at £59 for an HD receiver there a genuine bargin if you can do without ethernet connection...

There's a few to get you started, you've also got the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] HD Mini and 800HD at £84.99 and £89.99, these are both HD and come with ethernet connection and have a nice user interface, hard to argue with them at that price and well worth considering!

We can mention the 'gift' on the forum here no problem, the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] won't be able to help or support you on that specific aspect as you can imagine, but basically with the gift loaded (it's a small software patch - loaded by USB stick) and then activated if you have your [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] connected to the internet you can expect it to open up a fair bit of European packages for you, you really need to go with a motorised dish though to take real advantage of this and it don't expect the 'gift' to open anything on 28.2 East as it won't, but if you've got a motorised dish then for £79 for a receiver with gift it's another bargin, what it opens is worth far more than the £79 price tag alone not to mention the other features it has, which is quite a few (there's no guarantees with a gift of course, you should hope for a year from it though fingers crossed)....

All that said though IF you don't have a motorised dish or are unlikely to be considering this anytime soon then perhaps it's not the best choice for you, or at least the others should be given a little more consideration as well though, but if you've got motorised and you've got broadband internet then for the price £79 it's hard to beat as long as you're still happy for SD only!

Hello yoda thanks again for your help - what do you think about this deal ? [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Was thinking to get this as I will need a motorised dish to get the most out of the box! And it's quite cheap do you know any1 with this set up or does anyone on here have this set up?
    Many thanks to all

Plenty I'm sure with a similar setup and yes if you're only going for SD then it sounds like a bargin, you're sure doing the right thing going up to the 97cm dish over the 80cm as it'll be well worth while, think there is also the same package but with an Orbital 100cm dish as well for a little more, if you can stretch to the extra then I personally would do and go with the Orbital dish but having said that the Technomate ones still do the job, as do these Alsat mesh dishes to be fair, but for the price you are getting that little lot for and when you think what it can offer then there's no doubt they're worth it.... I would say the HD Spiderbox seem to enjoy a little better support but again having said that in recent months we've seen new releases for the SD Spiderbox as well so there's perhaps not a massive amount in it now but of course the HD ones will offer you more just for the fact they're are HD (but more exspensive at the same time).

If you're not looking for any specific package(s) as such but would like something almost out the box to open you a little more than most will then don't think you can go wrong with a Spiderbox and they can do more besides a 'gift' of course so even should that go you are not left with a FTA receiver, give it a go!
